Spring Sports in Action

Girls’ Lacrosse: The Morris Hills Girl Lacrosse team is fired up about their season and attribute their wins to the coaching staff and familial atmosphere. Collectively, the team has scored over 70 goals this season and will continue to work hard as a team to continue their success. Nicole Rizzo, Shaye Clark, Jenna Gallagher, Emily Frye, and Kellyann Gangaware lead the team in goals, while Kaityln Draney has over 50 saves as goalie.

Boys’ Lacrosse: Morris Hills Boy Lacrosse started strong this season; their leading scorers are sophomores Patrick Delle and Dean Fitzgerald as well as senior Jack Binkoski. The boys are a young team made up of mostly underclassmen which bodes well for the future as at the end of the season, seniors Jack Binkoski, Eudonis Foster, Joshua Burlacu, and Jassen Buerano will be graduating from the program.

Girls’ Track: Morris Hills Girl Track is performing well under a new head coach Ms. Lawrence. At the Vernon-Mount Olive tri-meet, Morris Hills represented well, coming in first place. Many of the girls on the team describe the Morris Hills as track their second home.

Boys’ Track:After winning the Morris County Championships team title during the indoor track season along the addition of plenty of talented newcomers, the Morris Hills boys seem more poised than ever to win the team titles at the Morris County Relays and Morris County Championships this outdoor season. The boys’ 4×800 meter relay team also looks to make another splash on the national stage at the upcoming and prestigious Penn Relays Carnival.

Golf:The MH golfers are improving their skills every day. Starting the season with a 3-2 record, the team is performing better than last year, and hopes to qualify for the state tournament this year. Coach Rosenberg also hopes to see some of his players place in the top 10 for the upcoming county tournament.

Baseball: The Morris Hills Baseball Team is working very hard this season. The boys scored over 30 runs in the beginning of the season. With  determination and hard work, the team should have a great season. Thomas Haynes, David Heeren, and Alex Veivia are the team’s leading pitchers while Chris Caraballo and Ryan Katell are the leading hitters. The team will be seeing seniors Chris Caraballo, Kevin Hogrelius, Kyler Weir, and Justin Laufer graduate at the end of the season.

Softball: The Morris Hills Varsity softball team started off the season with 3 wins.  There are six seniors on the team: Kiara Ruiz (captain), Elise Sheplak (captain), Alyssa Ginder, Anna Moran, Baily Lengyel and Taylor Minell. Many of the team’s losses were by one run, and they very hard fought games. The team faced Madison in starts the Morris County Tournament.  

Tennis (boys): The Morris Hills Boys Tennis Team started their season with two decisive victories. The team has been working hard, and they hope to maintain a positive record for the rest of the season. At the end of the year, seniors Teddy Wang, Neil Joshi, Nicholas Vezutto, and Lucas Janusik will be graduating from the program.
