Whether it’s in the favellas of Brazil or the sandy fields in Niemy, Africa, the universal sport of football, or soccer, is played all around the world. Likewise, here at Morris Hills, the boys varsity soccer team has played a well-rounded season with a total of 10 wins, 7 loses and 2 ties, having a total of 24 goals. The team made their mark at the start of the season, stacking a 5 game win streak, which would be substantial driving into the season.
Head Coach, Keith Dul, is the figure behind the team’s success, leading each and every player through the ups and downs of competitive soccer at a high school standard. To give background, Coach Dul has been coaching varsity soccer for 12 seasons and has been head coach for 7 seasons, showing distinguished achievements by promoting the boys varsity soccer team into the NJAC – American Division. This season, Coach Dul is specifically proud of the team’s resilience and hard work day in and day out, whether it be in practice or in matches.
Among all other factors of success, specifically, player Tyrese Brown, a senior apart of the Morris Hills boys varsity soccer team has guided the team into fame, with his remarkable performance and contribution throughout the years on the team. Tyrese plays in the mid-field position, taking control of the entire spirit of the match. His influence on the pitch, including strong passion for the game, encouraging mindset towards other teammates, and uplifting playstyle all add to his character on the team.
Additionally, Tyrese is most notable for his ability to dribble and beat a single opposing player “1 on 1.” His breathtaking talent does not stop there, as he has left both double-digit numbers in his “Goals” and “Assists” categories, with a whopping 11 goals and 11 assists in the previous season. His overall skill to drill a picture-perfect pass to his teammates is simply extraordinary. Likewise, he is a qualified finisher in and outside of the box, scoring goals in a multitude of ways like, volleys, power-shots, and finesse curves.
With multiple forms and evidence of accomplishments, the Morris Hills boys varsity soccer team has regarded a prosperous season this year.
