Congratulations to all of our winter athletic teams and coaches. Below is a recap of each season:
Boys Track and Field
The Morris Hills Boys Track team once again delivered an amazing 2024 winter campaign. In fact, many teams/groups consistently had successful results with some even making and performing well at the Meet of Champions. Overall, the team had a successful season with many athletes breaking personal records in their respective events. Though the team will miss the leadership of seniors Shaun Andreazza, Noah Bernard, Charles Champagne, Jean Halaby, Keith Manansala, Dilan Patel, Nisval Patel, and Gavin Varneckas, they hope to put forth another impressive campaign next season under Coach Willer.
Girls Tracks and Field
The Morris Hills Girls Track and Field put together an outstanding 2024 winter campaign, doing well in many meets and placing an amazing second overall in the Morris County Championship, the first time since 2011, and performing well at the Meet of Champions and many athletes recording new personal records. For this great season the team thanks seniors Madelyn Epstein, Sloan Epstein, Joanellys Fernandez, Emmanuella Jules, Laurie Medina, Jessica Sundel, and Caitlin Willer. However, the team also hopes to continue this impressive campaign into next season under Coach DiGennaro.
Boys Basketball
The Morris Hills Basketball team finished the season with an impressive record of 16-11. Throughout the season, the team showed a competitive spirit and overall had a successful tour with many impressive wins, such as games against Jefferson, Roxbury, Montville, and more. Though the team will definitely miss the leadership and experience from seniors Aidan Johnson, Cyrus Maclay, and Chris Petit-Frere, the team hopes to continue this pattern of success into next season under Coach Maclay.
Girls Basketball
The Morris Hills Girls Basketball finished the season with a fantastic record of 15-11. The team took a great stride towards success and improvement from last season, consistently stringing together impressive wins. One of their best moments in the entire season was their 5-game winning streak near the tail end of the season – including a strong win over rival school Morris Knolls. Indeed, the team will miss the contributions from seniors Sydney Mulrooney, Kaylee Amicucci, and Lexie Haigh, but hopes to continue their impressive campaign next season under Coach Dillon.
Boys Wrestling
The Morris Hills Boys Wrestling team had a great 2024 season with a record of 12-9. Their season was filled with great wins and even a 4-meet winning streak – showing promise for the future and great competitiveness in the present. One of their highlights came during the district tournament, where many of the team’s athletes performed really well and qualified for regionals as well. One of the highlights of their season was when they won against rival team Morris Knolls with a score of 40-25. Though, the team will definitely miss seniors Jaydin Barreto, Roger Barrezueta, Jeffrey Cadavid, Danil Cortese, Shane Davison, Adam Duab, Brady Gaeb, Ivan Gomez, Luca Levine, Daniel Matamala, Camilo Munoz, Andres Orlando, Sebastian Perez, Cole Piazza, Anthony Prestia, and Julian Rua, the team hopes to continue excelling next year under Coach Bollette.
Girls Wrestling
The Morris Hills Girls Wrestling team had an absolutely stellar season with a record of 20-1 and finishing the season as the no. 2 ranked team in New Jersey, with their only loss coming after a dominant 20-meet winning streak. One of the best highlights of their entire season came at the NJAC, where the team had many athletes place extremely well. Another key highlight of the season was when Emelly Diaz Santos earned 3rd place at the NJSIAA Girls Individual Wrestling tournament. For such a great season, Coach Wanamaker also received Girls’ Wrestling Coach of the Year for the 2023-2024 season – a distinction and award of the highest acclaim. Though the team will miss seniors Hailey Rathfon, Sophia Garcia, Bianca Morante, Kyara Olivera, Evette Colon, Kami Munoz, and Valentina Montano, they hope to extend their dominance to next year as well under Coach Wanamaker.
Bowling
The Morris Hills Bowling team had an amazing season with a record of 14-6 and placing 3rd overall in their New Jersey section. Throughout the season, the team had an impressive display of success and competitiveness with impressive victories coming against Roxbury, Morris Knolls, Delbarton and more. A key highlight of their season was when sophomore Sean Beifus set a new tournament record at the NJAC with an insane 259. Though the team will be without seniors Gabreille Boles and James Olson, the team hopes to continue their success into next season under Coach Niemo.
Boys Fencing
The Morris Hills Boys Fencing Team put together an amazing season with a record of 8-4. Their season was filled with great wins and moments. For example, at districts, many different athletes performed really well. Additionally, many individual athletes made great strides in their craft and performed really well as well. Though the team will be without Marlon Chaves, Miguel Cuon, Sahil Dhabiala, Michael Elardo, Brandon Howe, Christopher Ledford, Tyler Roberto, Harrison Tomasco, and Ethan Wong, they hope to extend their success into next season under Coach Campi-Sapery.
Girls Fencing
The Morris Hills Girls Fencing team rounded out their amazing season with a record of 8-4. Their season had many highlights and successful moments with constant displays of competitiveness. In the season, some of their most impressive wins came against the likes of Bernard, Randolph, and rival school Morris Knolls.The team also performed exceptionally well at the district tournament as well. Though the team will miss Vanessa Li, Sofia Marek, Reva Mathankar, Lorayne Muya, Nidhi Pandruvada, Rachel Quedding, and Nawal Waseem, they hope to continue their success into next season under Coach Nugent.
Ice Hockey
The Morris Hills/Morris Knolls public co-op Ice Hockey team had a wonderful season finishing with a record of 13-11-1. Though the team started off slow, they went on an absolute tear near the end of the season, eventually resulting in an excellent run in the NJSIAA tournament, where they made it all the way to the finals and won against Gov. Livingston at the Prudential Center, in a repeat of the 2022 finals. Though the team will be without Luke Dickerson, Eli Singley, Jack Martinez, Brendan Gleason, Benjamin Blender, Tyler Brookes, Michael Simone, Tommy Ryerson, and Wyatt Dunn, the team will look to defend their title next season under Coach Kepler.
Girls Swimming
The Morris Hills Girls Swimming team had a great season, finishing the season with a record of 6-4. The team displayed signs of great competitiveness and determination throughout the season, and especially during their 3-meet winning streak later on in the season against teams like Roxbury, Randolph, and Pequannock. Though the team will be without the leadership of seniors Ryleigh Bryant, Malvika Chainani, Noa Patton, Grace Reilly, and Emma Zhang, the team hopes to continue their excellence next season under Coach Montoya.
Boys Swimming
The Morris Hills Boys Swimming team had an absolutely exceptional season, finishing the season with a record of 7-3. The season was filled with great, competitive wins, some of which came from their many winning streaks. A key highlight of the season was their win against Wayne Valley in the quarter finals of the NJSIAA tournament. Though the team will miss leaders and seniors David Xu, Syon Gupta, Marcos Rodrigues and Evan Park, the team hopes to continue their success into next season under Coach Campbell.
Cheerleading
The Winter Morris Hills Cheerleading squad had an amazing season putting forth numerous spectacular performances and embodying the spirit of Morris Hills and the Scarlet Knights. The squad hopes to continue putting forth amazing performances under Coach Pratt in the spring season as well.
