Congratulations to Mrs. Kellner, Morris Hills’ Athletic Secretary, for winning the first-ever Morris County Administrative Assistant of the Year award! She was selected from the 26 schools in the North Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), and was honored at the Scholar Athlete Dinner on May 22 at the Hanover Manor.
As Athletic Secretary, Mrs. Kellner is responsible for verifying all the busing, game, and officiating information before each athletic event Morris Hills participates in. If there happens to be rain or other cancellations for athletic events, Mrs. Kellner is the one to call the umpires, referees, schools, and more to make such cancellations.
“Every day is different,” says Mrs. Kellner, and that is an important reason why she enjoys getting up to come to work and make coffee for all the administrators in the morning. Morris Hills is “one great big family” and a “great community,” she states and she has “the greatest boss in the world” in Mr. Haraka, Morris Hills Athletic Director, with whom she has been working with for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Kellner also values working with all of Hills’ student-athletes, and loves to watch students’ games when she can. In fact, Mrs. Kellner’s daughter and son both attended Morris Hills, and graduated in 2006 and 2008, respectively, before she started at Hills in 2009.
Once again, the Hilltopper congratulates Mrs. Kellner for her fantastic achievement!
