According to Google, “thankful” by definition means “pleased and relieved” – but what does it mean to the students at Morris Hills?
Between busy school schedules and extracurricular activities, it’s easy to lose sight of what one is thankful for. Some make time to express their gratitude by writing it down, conducting random acts of kindness, or through materialistic ways like small gifts to the ones that do things for them.
First hand witnesses can help give us an inside look to what it means. Chloe Diffley, a freshman at Hills, stated, “I’m very thankful for my best friend Grace Gebhard.” She shows this by always being with her.
Another freshman, Matthew Vega is grateful for his mom and how she supports him and everything he does. He said, “Even though she already knows, I tell her I love her everyday.” Expressing gratitude as a semi-regular schedule can help improve the relationship with someone they’re thankful for.
Recognizing and appreciating the small and big things in life can be extremely reflective in one’s behavior because in the grand scheme of things, the world is small, but the things you can achieve are big. The students at Morris Hills are thankful for an array of reasons.
