Mrs. Kellner, a name that everyone knows and a person loved by all her fellow staff and students. She has been the athletic secretary at Morris Hills High School for almost two decades. Having always worked at Morris Hills, the school has been her home. As the athletic secretary, she is the heart of what makes all the sports possible. Mrs. Kellner organized transportation, posted the game dates, confirmed officials, and much more. Without her, athletics would be nearly impossible.
Although she never played a sport growing up, she loves to watch them, particularly football and basketball. She can often be found at games, cheering on our athletes and supporting them every step of the way. Mrs. Kellner’s favorite part about her job is connecting and spending time with the athletes, as well as seeing them succeed and watching them become their best.
Mrs. Kellner is not just known by athletes; she’s loved by all who meet her, athlete or not, greeting everyone with a warm smile and kindness. She’d even take time out of her day to make and deliver coffee for administrators. She will truly be missed by everyone.
“It’s really bittersweet,” she said. “My favorite part about working here was all the friendships and family atmosphere.”
As she enters this new chapter of retirement, Mrs. Kellner is looking forward to spending more time with her family. “I’ll come to some of the meets and games,” Mrs. Kellner said, continuing her unwavering support for the Morris Hills community as she transitions into this new chapter of life. “Don’t worry, I will be back for graduation. I wouldn’t miss that,” she said.
As she says a bittersweet goodbye to Morris Hills, she leaves everyone with these words: “Be positive and be kind.”
Mrs. Kellner was the heartbeat of athletics and a vital staff member of our school. You will truly be missed, and we wish you all the best.
