After 27 years, art teacher, Mrs. Wagner, has retired. Each and everyday, she strived to put forth her best effort, helping students in and out of the classroom. Her enthusiasm for teaching has left behind an impressive legacy. Digital Art and Drawing and Painting were some of the classes that Wagner had taught. Mrs. Wagner said, “One of the highlights of my life was working with the students and athletes of Morris Hills High School.  Seeing them grow into good people is a validation that I must’ve done something right. I will truly miss them and my fellow staff members on a daily basis.  Looking back on my time at the Hills will always bring a smile to my face.”

Mrs. Wagner is the epitome of a great teacher . A true standout, Wagner was always passionate and energetic in the classroom. She pushed her students to their limits and made them better by grading students at a higher standard. A quote in her classroom states, “If it was easy, everyone would do it.” This truly shows that she sets very high goals.

Mrs. Wagner received her BA from William Paterson University and her Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. She has taught in the Morris Hills Regional District for the duration of her career. Besides being a fantastic art teacher, she used to be very involved with the school. She was the Girls Cross Country coach from 1977-1978, was the track coach from 1982-1987, and was an assistant track coach from 2002-2005. Wagner also used to be the Yearbook advisor and Assistant senior class advisor.

In the future, Mrs.Wagner may continue her athletic career, practicing Track and Field on Gifford Field. She also hopes to visit Germany and take day trips that will inspire her art designs. Mrs. Wagner’s daughter, Ms. Wagner, will be taking over her role for the remainder of the year and is excited to complete the year with all her new students.

Morris Hills student Arjun Chidrawar recounts the positive experience he had with Mrs. Wagner. “Mrs. Wagner established the foundation for my journey into grasping the concepts of Digital Art. Through her immense knowledge in the field, I was able to gain a thorough understanding of both Painter 12 and Photoshop CS6. It is easy for me to say that I have acquired skills that will only benefit me in the future.”
