During the week of September 23rd, school spirit filled the halls of Morris Hills as students wore patriotic outfits, dressed as Adam Sandler, and repped their Hills Merch for Spirit Week. Each day, anticipation grew as Friday’s pep rally approached. At 1:30 on Friday afternoon, the announcement everyone was waiting for arrived: time to go to the pep rally! Students excitedly made their way up to Gifford Field, where they could enjoy the music of the marching band as the other students arrived.
This year’s pep rally was a bit different. Instead of having just the fall sports teams and players introduced and participate in games… SGA selected teachers who formed their teams with any students of their choice. This was done to include everyone in the pep rally fun, not just athletes. Mrs. Dalton’s team displayed their team spirit all decked out in red as Mrs. Doltz’s team came in determined to win their games.
The best game of the event was the Rock Paper Scissors Showdown. Everyone watched with great excitement as the players made their way to the finish line, sometimes even colliding with each other. It was a total success! After that, a few other games were played including a relay race. Our cheerleaders gave us a stunning performance with gracefulness and beauty!
Crowds roared with applause and cheers throughout the games and performances. It was a lovely pep rally having everyone included and was a great success! Thank you to the SGA, MHHS Administration and Staff, and all those who helped make this event possible.
