Mural myo͝or(ə). A mural is a painting that expresses meaning behind it presented on a wall. A good way to motivate students to join the Morris Hills sports teams, clubs, do band, etc, is through the murals. Within the Morris Hills community, we have tried to encourage the students to be active and have good physical wellness overall.
Recently, the Art Service Club at Morris Hills, run by Mr. Gabriele, has been working on a mural for the Morris Hills Esports team. “Murals are a way for students in Morris Hills to not only express themselves artistically but also a way to give back to the school for years to come,” stated Mr. Gabriele.
The mural consists of the logo of the E-sports club that had been designed by the Art Service Club themselves for Ms. Sabatini who runs the E-sports club. While there is no determined date when the mural will be finished, the students within the Art Service Club have been hard at work.
Ms. Sabatini came up with the idea of the mural and discussed it with Mr. Gabriele. “Together, we had thought it would be nice for a way to advertise for the club itself and we really liked the way the logo looked, so we thought it would be a good way to get the news out about that club in a creative way,” Mr. Gabriele stated.
The Esports mural seemed like a nice way to promote the club, he said. “It gets students thinking, ‘What is that? That looks interesting.’”
A mural could represent a lot of things within a community. Make sure to visit the food waste mural that is getting hung up within the cafeteria in the next year and to see the E-sports club mural when finished.
The Art Service Club meets after school in Room 235. If interested, please reach out to Mr. Gabriele!
