On the weekends in the Gym and Weight Room at Morris Hills High School, members of the Lift It Up Team encourage muscle and body building, strength training and mental resilience. Through the Challenger athlete program, volunteers are able to work with these members to instill these traits in them as well.
Often referred to as Mr. C, Mr. Frank Cappuccio is the main facilitator of these practice events, but on the team, however, many people contribute to the overall ongoings of each event. The Lift It Up team consists of the members of Mr. Tony Lusardi, Mr. Patrick Narcise, Mrs. Jan Rinnooi, Mrs. Kelly Matika, Mrs. Marie Brancy and Mr. Tom Hart.
Lift It Up started on January 31st, including the new start time at 3 pm instead of 4 pm. This is because the Challenger athletes now go to do bowling, to accommodate those who would prefer partaking in Lift it Up events and bowling. Bowling starts at 5 pm. The schedule for the year 2026 includes the dates, January 31st, February 14th and the 28th, March 14th and the 28th, and April 11th and the 25th. All of these dates are on Saturdays, from 3 pm to 4:15 pm. The last date is on May 3rd, and is on a Sunday.
