Kicking off Battle of the Classes, this spirited competition started up once more, bringing the student body back onto Gifford Field to cheer and participate through a series of challenges and games. From relay races and trivia contests to creative performances and obstacle courses, these activities gave each grade level the chance to prove their skills and work as a team.
The week prior to the games, each grade could engage in activities to try and earn themselves points. For example, there was a lip sync battle where each grade submitted a video where they lip synced to a remix of songs as well as mini games in the cafeteria as the week went on. Throughout all these activities, each grade received points based on their performance.
At the end of the week, the entertainment was brought up to Gifford Field as students watched their peers perform in games and showed off their skills to the classes. Each grade, plus teachers, played trivia games where they had to recall their historical knowledge, and ran relay races that spanned across the field, ending in a 200m sprint on the track. Additionally, there was a tug-of-war, which drew loud cheering for their team.
Aryana Disla, a sophomore here at Morris Hills said, βI had a lot of fun competing in both the sponge race and tug-of-war but I would say the sponge race was the most fun to compete in.β She continued saying, βIt was really fun to be able to compete with my friends since we are all very competitive people and it became really fun memories!β
In the end, the senior class won, coming out on top as champions of Battle of the Classes!
