On Sept. 14, 2024, the Morris Hills Girls Soccer team held a successful used clothing drive, bake sale, and car wash, to support their program. This event took place between 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in front of Morris Hills High School.
Community members were invited to drop off gently used clothing and accessories for men, women, and children, near the tennis courts. Items such as small toys, stuffed animals, bikes, and strollers, were also accepted.
This is the largest fundraiser for the program in the season, so the girls kept busy washing cars and ushering people over to the bake sale to enjoy homemade and store bought treats. “Seeing so many people from the community show up to support us was amazing,” said Dylan Turner, a junior on the team.
As the day went on, donations piled up, and by 12:30, the girls had dozens of bags filled with donated items to load into the truck. The filled truck was a testimony to the power of the community that surrounds the Morris Hills Girls Soccer team.
“Not only was it really fun to spend time with my teammates and grow a stronger bond with them, but it was also a rewarding experience and it felt good to give back to our community,” said sophomore Juliet Truong.
Overall, the fundraiser was a huge success and helped support the program to thrive and grow!
