Girls Cross County and Track and Field coach Mark DiGennaro has been selected as the NJSIAA and NJ4S Morris and Sussex Community Coach of the Fall Season, chosen from a group of 100 nominees across Morris and Sussex counties. This recognition honors his dedication to teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, as well as his positive impact on student-athletes and the community.
Reflecting on his career, Coach DiGennaro shared that “The proudest moment of my career was last year when we won the indoor and outdoor county relay championships, which was a culmination of many years of hard work.” He strives to help his athletes grow in every way, from building confidence to developing their skills.
“I focus on helping them be more confident in their ability,” Coach says. “I love giving them opportunities to grow and seeing the girls develop throughout their years at Morris Hills.”
This award was both a surprise but also the result of years of hard work. “I feel super grateful and lucky to be coaching a great group of girls,” he shared. “The best part of the job is influencing kids, building stronger relationships with them. It’s my motivation to come to work every day.”
