Dedicated, compassionate, and driven by a passion for helping students succeed are only a few qualities that Mrs. Leigh Wojcik, our school psychologist, possesses.
With 15 years of experience, she has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless students, guiding them through challenges and celebrating their growth. Congratulations to Mrs. Wojcik for being recognized as our 2024-2025 Educational Specialist of the Year!
Growing up, Mrs. Wojcik was inspired by her mother, a school social worker, who often brought her to work, exposing her to the importance of student support services. This early exposure combined with her high school psychology class that sparked a deep interest set Mrs. Wojcik on the path to becoming a school psychologist.
“Psychology as a major in college can set you up for tough decisions,” Mrs. Wojcik said. “It’s a long road to get here, but being able to work with students makes it all worth it.”
Working here at Morris Hills, Mrs. Wojcik appreciates the diversity of each day and the opportunity to witness students’ personal and academic growth. “Every day is different,” she said. “Seeing students progress and develop over time is truly remarkable.”
Building relationships with students is at the heart of Mrs. Wojcik’s work. She believes in authenticity and empathy, creating an environment where students feel understood and supported. “Trying to be real with them and being as empathetic as possible is key. Understanding their struggles and showing you care makes all the difference,” she added.
For students facing difficulties in school, Mrs. Wojcik offers an encouraging message: “You can get through anything with the right support. You don’t have to go through things alone.”
This prestigious recognition of Educational Specialist of the Year is a testament to Mrs. Wojcik’s unwavering commitment to student success. Her ability to connect with students, provide meaningful guidance, and foster resilience in young individuals has made her a pillar of support in our school community.
Congratulations to Mrs. Wojcik on this well-deserved honor!
