Spring Sports Season a Huge Success!

As the school year winds down, The Hilltopper takes a look back at the Spring Sports season. Mr. Haraka, the director of Athletics at Morris Hills, recounted the highlights of the season.

According to Mr. Haraka, this year the Boys’ Lacrosse team won the most games in one season ever. The Girls’ Softball team won the Morris Hills Softball tournament, and the Boys’ Tennis team had the “best year that we’ve had in a long time.” In fact, the Boys’ Tennis team reached sectional semi-finals. As usual, the Track team did very well. “All in all,” said Mr. Haraka, “I think we’ve had a very good spring.”

Some outstanding players were Zach Berkowitz, who scored his 100th career goal in Lacrosse, Conor McClain who won several championships for javelin, and Shannon Cox, who had her 100th career hit in softball.

Mr. Haraka has high hopes for Morris Hills athletic teams in the upcoming school year, and the next spring season in particular. He thinks the baseball team will improve and the Boys’ Tennis team will continue to be strong. Overall, Mr. Haraka is looking forward to “another very good spring season.”
