Pull over for pizza! Where to find the best of the best

Everyone in America loves pizza; nobody can deny that. There are so many different types of pizza to enjoy:   pepperoni, sausage, meatball, think crust, thicker crust.  The list goes on.  Pizza is one of the most popular foods in America and it is obvious why this is so. Pizza is one of the easiest foods to create and buy (it also happens to be one of the cheapest foods to eat out). We are very lucky to live in New Jersey, which is known to be home to some of the best pizza in the country. If you’ve ever had pizza in the West, you can attest to this truth.  The pizza will not be as tasty as it is here in the East. Right here in Rockaway, there are many places that offer top-notch, mouthwatering pizza and many of those pizzerias are close to Morris Hills. Five standouts are Domenicos Pizzeria, M&S II, Paradiso Pizza, Anthony’s Pizzeria, and The Brick House. This review will name the best slice from each one of these pizzerias, and also evaluate staff and wait time.  As it turns out, all of these pizzeria’s pizza slices were phenomenal, and they are all in convenient locations.

Domenico’s Pizzeria is located in White Meadow Lake. On a scale from 1 to 5 for staff rating, Domenico’s earns 5 out of 5. Everyone at the restaurant is friendly and nice and cares about your satisfaction. My pizza was ready in less than three minutes. Domenico’s best slice of pizza is by far their buffalo chicken pizza. They put the perfect amount of ranch dressing and buffalo chicken on top of the cheese. Domenico’s Pizzeria has great pizza and anyone who has not tried their buffalo chicken pizza should do so as soon as possible.

Paradiso Pizza is located fairly close to Morris Hills on Route 46. It earns a 3 out of 5 staff rating. Most of the people are nice but some seem like they do not really enjoy their job. My pizza was served to me in less than four minutes. Paradiso’s best slice is their meatball pizza. Meatballs are always good on pizza but at this pizzeria, meatballs on pizza are more than just good, they’re great. If you go to Paradiso Pizza, get their meatball slice.

M&S II is conveniently located by Morris Hills High School near the Rockaway Shop-Rite. It’s so close that Morris Hills’ students can walk right to this pizzeria and to get slices. The staff here gets a 4 out of 5 rating; they really connect with the customer in a nice way and when I ordered, I could tell that everyone at the restaurant enjoyed their job. My pizza was served to me in less than four minutes. The best slice M&S II has to offer is their pepperoni pizza. They put on just the right amount of pepperoni to satisfy the customer. One day if you walk home from Morris Hills and you are hungry, I suggest you stop at M&S II and get their pepperoni pizza.

Anthony’s Pizza is also very close to Morris Hills near the Quick Check in Rockaway Anthony’s staff also gets a 4 out of 5. Everybody is nice there and works diligently to fill customers’ orders. My pizza was done in under four minutes. The plain slice is Anthony’s star. Their cheese is so good that no toppings are needed. If you want the best plain slice of pizza in the area, go to Anthony’s Pizza.

The Brick House is located near Dwyer Elementary School, farther away from Morris Hills and the other mentioned pizzerias. The staff at the Brick House only earns 3 out of 5. There is usually only one person there doing everything, and it took almost five minutes for me to get my slice. The best slice at the Brick House pizzeria is the sausage.  If you don’t mind the drive and the wait, check out their sausage slice.  There’s just the right amount to make it delicious.

Morris Hills’ students are lucky to have so many great eateries relatively nearby. Next time your craving a slice, try one of these local spots that you haven’t been to before.
